Town Treasurer

The Town of Canterbury is seeking a person for the position of Town Treasurer.  This is a part time salaried position.

The duties of the Treasurer include the day to day financial management of the town, investment of town funds ans proper payment for authorized debts.

The Treasurer is also responsible for preparing the monthly financial statements for the Board of Finance, attending their meeting to answer questions concerning these statements and correcting or adding items as the Board of Finance mandates.

The Treasurer is responsible for preparing the necessary work papers and other financial documents to be presented to the town auditors.  The Treasurer assists in the audit, and makes necessary corrections to the financial statements as directed.

Town Hall and Public Library Hours of Operation are as follows:

Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday: Town Hall: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm:  Library: 9:00 am to 7:00 pm

Thursday: Town Hall 9:00 to 6:30 pm;  Library 9:00 am to 8:00 pm


Saturday:  Library: 9:00 am to 2:00 pm


RAFFLE AND BAZAAR PERMITS - Pursuant to Public Act 17-231, effective January 1. 2018,  the First Selectman's office will be issuing permits for raffles and bazaars being held in the Town of Canterbury.  Detailed information is available at the Selectmans office or from the Department of Consumer Protection,
